Neltner refuge or Toubkal refuge hut 3207 m

By far Toubkal refuge hut is the most frequently used of all the mountain refuges in the High Atlas of Morocco, its popularity is due largely to its situation at foot of Toubkal. It is open throughout the year, although new snow can make it harder to reach in winter. The original Neltner refuge was named after Louise Neltner, a French geologist and climber who helped raise money for its construction. Demand over the years exceeded capacity, though, and a new refuge was opened recently. This sleeps upwards of 120 people, but can still get crowded. Hot showers are available for 10 dhs. There is a comfortable lounge area, and hot food is available.
