Mule hire in Imlil for luggage transport

The absence of supplies, distance from roadheads and general lack of facilities mean that all equipment must be carried while on trek. By far the easiest way of doing this is to hire mules. The Atlas are criss-crossed with a network of mule trails. This together with the low cost, makes mule hire an attractive option.

The usual arrangement is that you hire the mule, the muleteer who accompanies it does not charge for this services, In the Toubkal area each mule has its own muleteer, in other areas a muleteer may look after two or three mules.

The mules and muleteers move very fast over the ground irrespective of your level of fitness, you would find it hard to keep up. Consequently they usually depart well after the trekkers.
